All original work listed is created by Blackbird Owner and artist, Melissa Frank-Williams. 

Melissa is a self-taught contemporary painter and mixed media artist in Boulder County, Colorado.  She creates pieces that play with dichotomies- new and old, familiar and mysterious, joyful and moody, playful and serene. The stars of her work are often animals juxtaposed against abstract backgrounds layered with story.  Her paintings often include recycled materials, her own hand-carved stamps, vintage ephemera, rusty metal bits, and dried plants from a hike or the land on which she lives.
